Question

Oct 09 2010, 13:03:06 Devonshire House Mirror

I have recently purchased a giltwood and gesso mirror frame at the Chatsworth sale. It is listed as circa 1840 but I am advised by Sotherbys that is thought to be from Devonshire House and that the date might be a bit conservative with the mirror being earlier. It was suggested that further research would be worthwhile as it might be possible to attribute it to Morel and Hughes, possibly from a recess between windows in the green room at Devonshire House. Can anyone advise as to how I might research this further e.g by studying room plans etc?
