I have come across a letter in a family trunk, signed by A Clevland. The letter is dated 14th July 1756.
From the contents of the letter it is an acknowledgement to a letter that was sent obviously by one of my ancestors.
the letter I have reads:-
"Sir Admty Office 14th July 1756
I have received and read to my Lords Commissioners of the (pos. “Navy or Admty”) your letter of the 11th Instant, involving the progress of his majesty's ships at your Port and
Your most humble servt
Would there be any record of the original letter and / or who would have sent it?
I am presuming it relates to the port of Plymouth, which is where my paternal grandmother’s family originate from.
