Question

Mar 01 2010, 18:55:08 workhouse records

I am trying to complete my family tree but have come up against a brick wall regarging my great grandfather who I am aware of being in the Newcastle Union workhouse (Newcastle-Upon-Tyne). He was born in 1863 but no birth registered, I belive he was there as a child. My question is: are there any records of admissions into the workhouse and where are they
