Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Macconmara, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, who says he is of a race of dukes, and has studied canon and civil law for several years, the rectory (commonly called [the rectory] of Okassyn) of the parish church of Cunky in the said diocese, which has divers churches under it, is of the patronage of laymen, whose value does not exceed 20 marks, and which has been so long void by the death of Matthew Macconmara that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Oflannagayn, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe (who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure), the rectory, without cure, value not exceeding 2 marks, of Kilnafearbugi in the said diocese, which Cornelius, bishop of Limerick, held at the time of his promotion to that see, made before the General Council was celebrated at Pisa, and which became and is void by the said promotion and by the bishop's consecration; whether it became void as stated, or by the said bishop's resignation, or otherwise. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Macconmara, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, who says he is of a race of dukes, and has studied canon and civil law for several years, the rectory of Bunrathy, called of Tradray, in the said diocese, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 24 marks, so long void by the death of Matthew Macconmara that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; whether it became void as above, or because the said Matthew held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest, or in any other way. He is hereby dispensed to hold for life Bunrathy with Cunky, if he obtain the latter under other letters which have been granted to him [above, f. 14], and to resign them, simply or for exchange. Mandate to collate and assign to Odo Ohogayn, precentor of Killaloe, who is a priest, is of noble race, has studied canon law for some time, and lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted etc., as above, f. 23, the rectory of Baleyncasleaynara in the diocese of Killaloe, of the patronage of laymen, value not exceeding 6 [cf. p. 267] marks, which became void and reserved by Execrabilis because the late Odo Ohogayn [see ibid.] obtained it by collation of the ordinary, when holding the precentorship of Killaloe, a dignity, and held both together for more than a month, and has been so long void that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that the pope recently ordered provision to be made to him of the deanery of Killaloe, a major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 12 marks, that he holds the said precentorship, and that he is illegitimate as above. He is hereby dispensed to hold together rectory and deanery for life, and to resign them, simply or for exchange. Upon obtaining the rectory he is, as he has offered, to resign the precentorship, as he is also bound to do upon obtaining the deanery. Vite etc. (Ja. xxviii. Decimo Kal. Mandate to collate and assign to Cornelius Ogriffa, perpetual vicar of Kyllmaellychry in the diocese of Killaloe—who is a priest and whom, already promoted to acolyte's and other minor orders, the present pope lately dispensed, as the son of a married man and an unmarried woman, to minister in his said orders, and to be promoted to all holy orders and hold and resign, simply or for exchange, the said vicarage, value not exceeding 4 marks, provision of which the pope ordered to be made to him [above, pp. 236, 237],—the perpetual vicarage of Bunrathi (also written Brunrathy) in the said diocese, value likewise not exceeding 4 marks, so long void by the death of Richard Okeallayg that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, Patrick Obriggayg, priest, of the same diocese, who has unduly detained possession for more than three years, being summoned and removed. Collation and provision to him, who is of noble birth, of the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 30l. sterling, of the parish church of Enerlithen in the diocese of Glasgow, void and therefore reserved by the death of John de Merton, papal chaplain; notwithstanding that the pope has lately ordered provision to be made to him of a benefice with or without cure, wont to be assigned to secular clerks, in the common or several gift of the bishops and chapters and canons and prior and dean, respectively, of St. Andrews and Brechin, which mandate of provision shall, upon his obtaining the said vicarage, be null as far as regards a benefice with cure only. Mandate to collate and assign to John Mackathmeyl, clerk, of the diocese of Clogher—who says he is of a race of dukes, and who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a bishop and an unmarried woman related in certain degrees of affinity, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold one, two, three or four compatible benefices with or without cure, and to resign them, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleased,—the rectory of Acchadlurcaire in the said diocese, value not exceeding 12 marks, void and therefore reserved by the death at the apostolic see of Odo Magecabaynd; whether it be void as stated, or because the late Paul Ocarbri and Maurice Maguyr, successively rectors thereof, obtained by collation of the ordinary, when holding it, the archdeaconry of Clogher, a dignity, or be void in any other way.
