To the abbot of Dere in the diocese of Aberdeen. Mandate to collate and assign to Thomas de Tulach, canon of Ross, by both parents of noble birth, the deanery of the same church, a major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 30l. sterling, void by the death of William Fau'har, and reserved under the pope's general reservation of all major cathedral dignities; notwithstanding that Thomas (who was lately dispensed by papal authority to hold for life the archdeaconry of Caithness, which is a non-major dignity with cure, and one other [in]compatible benefice, or, if he resigned the archdeaconry, to hold two other incompatible benefices, even if one or both had cure etc., and to resign them, simply or for exchange [above, p. 79]) still holds the said archdeaconry and a canonry of of Moray with the prebend with cure of Croy, and a canonry of Ross with the prebend of Kyrkmichael, value not exceeding 20l., 16l., and 8l. sterling respectively, and that the present pope lately made provision to him of a canonry of Aberdeen and another of Dunkeld, with reservation of as many prebends, and of a dignity etc. even if elective and with cure, of one of them, in virtue of which he accepted, caused provision to be made to him of, and at present holds, a canonry of Aberdeen with the prebend called Banchori Deveny therein, value not exceeding 20l. sterling. Upon obtaining the said deanery he is, as he has offered, to resign the said canonry and prebend of Ross and whichever he prefers of the said prebend with cure and archdeaconry, and the said letters shall be null as far only as regards a dignity, personatus with cure, administration or office.Dignum etc. (An. and Cyprianus. | An. xxx.
