1471–1484 Sixtus IV (Francesco della Rovere, O. Min., cardinal priest of St. Peter's ad Vincula), elected at Rome in the Vatican Palace 10 Aug., consecrated and crowned 25 Aug., 1471 (the beginning of the pontifical year), died at Rome, 12 Aug., 1484.
