Vatican Regesta, Vol. DCCXLV. (fn. 1)

Bullarum Liber XLVIII.

5 and 6 Innocent VIII.

On the back of the volume: ‘Inn. viii. Bullar. An. v, vi. L. xlviii.’ On the front cover of the original sheepskin binding, preserved at the beginning of the volume, is the contemporary ‘Liber xlviiis . Bullar domini Innocentii viii’; and on the back of it is the usual later ‘Innoc. 8. Lib. 48.’ There are i–cccxv ff. of text, and no ‘rubricelle.’ The volume contains nothing within the scope of the present Calendar.

This is the first of the papal registers examined for the purpose of the present volume in which the ink has seriously corroded the paper. On f. 22r., in particular, is the first hole due to that cause which has hitherto been met with, the ink having eaten its way through the paper.
