Anno 8o Georgii Secundi.
DIE Jovis, 26o Septembris.
The Lord Chancellor declared, in the House, "That
His Majesty had granted a Writ under the Great
Seal, for the further proroguing of the Parliament."
Which was read, by the Clerk, as follows; (videlicet,)
Parliament prorogued.
"GEORGE R."
"George the Second, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender
of the Faith, &c. To Our Dearly-beloved and Faithful the Prelates, Nobles, and Lords, of Our Kingdom of Great Britain; and to Our Beloved and Faithful the Knights, Citizens, Burgesses, and Commissioners for the Counties and Boroughs, of Our said
Kingdom; called and chosen to Our Parliament, to
be held at Our City of Westminster, the Twenty-sixth
Day of this Instant September, and to every One of
you, Greeting. Whereas We, for certain difficult
and pressing Affairs, concerning Us, the State and
Defence of Our Kingdom of Great Britain and the
Church, did ordain this present Parliament to be held
at the aforesaid City, on the Thirteenth Day of June
last past; and did command you, by Our several
Writs, at the City and Day aforesaid, to be present,
to treat, consent, and conclude, upon those Things
which, in Our said Parliament, then and there should
be proposed and treated of: And whereas We, by
Our Writ, for certain Causes and Considerations Us
thereunto especially moving, have thought fit to prorogue Our said Parliament, from the same Thirteenth
Day of June, unto the Sixteenth Day of July last
past; from thence, by another Writ, unto the
Thirteenth Day of August last past; and from
thence, by another Writ, unto the Twenty-sixth
Day of this Instant September; so that neither
you, or any One of you, at the said Days, are
bound or obliged to appear at the said City; being
willing that you, and every One of you, should, by
Us be discharged therefrom; and, by the same Writ,
We lately commanded you, and every One of you,
to appear, and be personally present, on the said Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant September, at the City
aforesaid, to treat, do, act, and conclude, upon those
Things which, in Our said Parliament, shall happen
to be ordained: Nevertheless, for certain Causes and
Considerations Us hereunto especially moving, We
have thought fit further to prorogue Our said Parliament, from the said Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant
September, unto Thursday the Fourteenth Day of November next following; so that neither you, or any
of you, on the said Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant
September, at the aforesaid City, are bound or obliged
to appear: We will therefore, that you, and every
of you, shall be by Us therefrom wholly discharged; commanding, and, by the Tenor of these Presents, strictly requiring you, and every of you, and all
others whom it may concern in this Behalf, that, at
the said Fourteenth Day of November, at the aforesaid City of Westminster, you, and every One of you,
appear and be personally present, to treat, do, act,
and conclude, upon those Things which, in Our said
Parliament, by the common Council of Our said
Kingdom (by God's Assistance), shall happen to be
ordained.
