ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill for preventing Frauds and Perjuries, and the Committee for
Explanation of the Bill to prevent the Dangers which
may happen by Popish Recusants, being now sine Die,
do meet on Monday next, at Three of the Clock in the
Afternoon.
Heads for securing the Protestant Religion.
The House was adjourned into a Committee during
Pleasure, to take into Consideration that Part of His Majesty's Speech which relates to (fn. *) the Protestant Religion.
The House being resumed;
The Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee of the whole House have been in Consideration of some Heads which were proposed the last
Session for the better securing the Protestant Religion,
in order to the preparing a Bill or Bills; and having
made some Alterations and Additions to those Heads,
the Committee are of Opinion, That a Committee may
be appointed to prepare a Bill against Atheism, Blasphemy, and Prophaneness; and that another Bill
may be prepared, for the Increase of Maintenance
where there is small Livings in Corporate Towns."
It is ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Business shall be resumed on Wednesday Morning next;
when it shall be considered what Heads are fit to be sorted, and divided into several Bills; and what further
Heads may be proposed for the further securing of the
Protestant Religion.
