Upon Report made by the Earl of Essex, from the Lords Committees appointed to inspect Mr.
Coleman's and other Persons, Papers, and Letters, "That
their Lordships have not Power to deliver Papers or Letters over to the
King's Attorney:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in
Parliament assembled, That the said Lords Committees have hereby Power given
them, to deliver over to His Majesty's Attorney General such Papers and Letters as they shall find necessary for his Use, in order to his preparing
Evidence against such Persons as are to be tried.
The Earl of Essex further reported,
"That the Lords Committees, in perusing of Mr. Coleman's
Letters, had found some Letters written in a mystical Expression:"
Which were read.
Preservation of the King's Person, and securing the Protestant
Religion.
The House was adjourned into a Committee, to consider of
Heads for a Bill, or Bills, for securing the Protestant Religion.
The House was resumed.
And the Earl of Bridgwater reported,
"That the Committee, finding the Order for this Business not large enough,
desires the former Order may be renewed, that the same Words may be
expressed; videlicet, To consider of such Proposals as
shall be offered for the Preservation of His Majesty's Person, and the Safety
of the Kingdom, and securing of the Protestant Religion."
Which ordered; then the House was again put into a
Committee for that Purpose.
And, after some Consideration, the House was resumed.

thereof.
