PRAYERS.
Lords take the Oaths.
This Day these Lords following took the Oaths of Allegiance
and Supremacy, and made and sub scribed the Declaration, in Pursuance of the
Act for the more effectual preserving of the King's Per son and Government, by
disabling Papists from sit ting in either House of Parliament:
Horatio Lord Townsend.
Richard Earl of Burlington.
Heneage Earl of Winchilsea.
Writs of Error brought in.
The Lord Chief Justice of the King's Bench brought up the
Transcripts of Two Writs of Error; which were examined by the Originals after
the Rising of the House:
Newton Plaintiff, and Bynns Defendant.
Cooling Plaintiff, and
Stratford Defendant.
King present.
His Majesty, sitting in His Royal Throne, adorned with His
Crown and other Regal Ornaments (the Peers being also in their Robes),
commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to signify His Majesty's Plea
sure to the Commons, "That they presently come up, and attend Him."
Who being come;
The Lord Chancellor, by His Majesty's Directions,
said,
Parliament prorogued.
"My Lords; and you the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses of
the House of Commons;
"His Majesty's Pleasure is, That this Parliament shall be
prorogued to the Fifteenth Day of this Instant March,
being Saturday next: And this Parliament is prorogued to
the Fifteenth Day of this Instant March, being
Saturday."
