This Day Ford Earl of Tankerville was introduced,
between the Earl Rivers and Earl of Scarbrough; the
Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, the Lord Great
Chamberlain, and the King at Arms, going before,
carrying his Letters Patents of Creation, delivered it to
the Earl of Tankerville; who gave it to the Speaker on
his Knee; which was read at the Table, and bears Date
the Eleventh Day of May, Septimo Gul. Tertii.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer:
Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable
the Parish of St. James, within the Liberties of the
City of Westm'r, to raise (upon themselves) so much
Money as will discharge their Debt, for building their
Parish Church, Rector's House, Vestry, and other
public Works there;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
ORDERED, That the said Bill be read on Saturday

A Message was brought from the House of Commons,
by Mr. Whitaker and others:
To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable
Trustees to sell Part of the Manor of Barkhamstead,
and to pay off the Incumbrances charged on the same;
and to lay out the Overplus in an Estate, to be settled
as the said Manor is now vested;" to which they
have agreed, without any Amendment.

Thornhill versus Clifton:
Upon hearing Counsel this Day, at the Bar, upon the
Petition and Appeal of Captain John Thornhill, from a
Dismission of his Bill in the Court of Chancery, the
Three and Twentieth of November, One Thousand Six
Hundred Eighty-seven, in a Cause wherein the Petitioner
was Plaintiff, and Sir Gervas Clifton and Sarah Clifton
Widow (Mother of Sir Gervas) Defendants; as also upon
the Answer of the said Sir Gervas Clifton and Sarah his
Mother put in thereunto:
Judgement affirmed.
After due Consideration of what was offered thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the
said Petition and Appeal of Captain John Thornhill shall
be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the
Dismission of his Bill in the Court of Chancery, the
Three and Twentieth of November, One Thousand Six
