Hopton's Bill rejected.
This Day this House heard the Counsel and Witnesses
of Richard Hopton, and also the Counsel and Witnesses
of Sir Edward Hopton and others, in relation to the Bill
depending in this House, intituled, "An Act for making
void several Conveyances and Assurances, made by
Richard Hopton Esquire, Grandson and Heir of Sir
Richard Hopton, late of Cannon Froome, in the County
of Hereford, fraudulently procured by colour of a
forged Will of the said Sir Richard Hopton."
And, upon serious Consideration thereof, these Questions were put and Resolved:
"1. Whether this Bill shall be committed?"
It was Resolved in the Negative.
"2. Whether this Bill shall be rejected?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Bill to prohibit the Importation of Irish Cattle.
ORDERED, That on Thursday Morning next this
House will proceed in the Report of the Bill against importing of Irish Cattle, &c. the First Business.
