this House.
The King to be thanked for coming frequently to the House.
ORDERED, That the humble Thanks of this House

in this House, lately renewed, according to the Custom
of His Royal Predecessors, though the same had been

ORDERED, That this Thanks be presented to His

know what Time He will please this House shall wait
upon Him for this Purpose.
L. Fitzwater's Precedency.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in
Parliament assembled, That on the First Wednesday of
the next Sitting of the Parliament after Midsummer next,
the Trial of the Lord Fitzwater's Cause, upon the
Claim of his Precedency to all Barons now sitting as

which Time all such Lords as shall oppose his said
Claim may be heard in this House.
L. Newport Privilege.--Price released.
Whereas Thomas Price, of The Newe Exchange, in
the Liberty of Westminster, now in the Custody of the
Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy,
for sueing John Colles, menial Servant to the Lord Newport, a Peer of this Realm, in Michaelmas Terme last,
sitting the Parliament, hath submitted himself to the
Lord Newport, and acknowledged his said Offence;
and prayed his Lordship's Pardon and Intercession for
him:
It is thereupon ORDERED (at the special Motion of
the Lord Newport on that Behalf), That the said Thomas Price be, and is hereby, discharged of his present
Restraint for his said Offence, paying his Fees: And
this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.
Lord Roos's Bill.
The Earl of Berks reported, "That the Committee
for the Bill to enable John Mannors, called Lord
Roos, to marry again, living his Wife, from whom
he is divorced, having read the Bill through entire,
entered into Consideration of the Lady Anne Roos's
Petition, referred to that Committee; and thereupon
sent out Three Times, to have Enquiry made in all
the Precincts of the Lords House, whether the Lady
Anne Roos, or anybody for her, were attending?
And Answer was made as oft, That neither the Lady
Roos, nor anybody for her, was attending. Upon
which, the Lords proceeded to read the Bill by Paragraphs, and compared the Preamble with the original Act for illegitimating the Children of the
Lady Anne Roos; and agreed to the several Paragraphs of the Bill: And then proceeded upon Debate of the Lady Roos's Petition, what was fit to be
done thereupon; when a Petition and Proviso were
offered to the Committee on Behalf of the Lord
Castleton, to save his Right to a Fourth Part of the
Lands settled by the Lady Grace Mannors, Grandmother to the Lord Roos. The Lord Castleton was
called in, and fully heard; and being withdrawn,
upon Consideration had of what was offered, the
Committee found no Cause to admit the Proviso.
"Then the Committee being informed that the
Lady Roos was attending, she was called in, and her
Petition read; and being asked, "What she said to
the Scandals laid on the Countess of Rutland therein?"
Her Ladyship answered, "She hopes the Petition is
no Scandal if she can prove it, which, if she may
have the Liberty of Appeal, she doubts not to do;
and prayed she may have Counsel to speak for her."
Upon which, she withdrew.
"And, after some Time spent in Consideration hereof, the Lady Roos being called for again, to be heard
by her Counsel; Answer was returned, That she
was gone: Upon which, the Lords Committees proceded to the Title of the Bill, and think fit, that
the Words ["living his Wife, from whom he is divorced,"] be left out; and that their Lordships are
of Opinion, the Bill is fit to be engrossed.
"After this, the Lord Castleton sent in Word to
their Lordships, That he desired to withdraw his
Petition and Proviso; and, being called in, his Lordship desired as much, saying, "He would wave the
Prosecution of it." Upon which, the Petition and
Proviso were delivered to him; which was agreed to
be reported with the Bill."
Then the Amendment, being read Twice, was agreed
to; and the Bill is ordered to be engrossed, according
to the Amendments; and that the said Bill be read the
Third Time on Saturday next, at Eleven of the Clock.
ORDERED, That this House do sit this Afternoon, at
Three of the Clock, and proceed further in Consideration of the Bill against Conventicles, in a Committee
of the whole House.
