Lords take the Oaths.
This Day Foulke Lord Brooke and Edward Lord
Ward took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, and made and subscribed the Declaration, in
Pursuance of the Act for the more effectual preserving
the King's Person and Government, by disabling Papists from sitting in either House of Parliament.
ORDERED, That the Earl of Berkeley and the Lord
Colepeper are added to the Committee for the Journal
Book.

ORDERED, That the Earl of Winchilsea is excused
from his Attendance on this House for some Time, to
recover his Health, having His Majesty's Leave.
Bateman versus Foote.
Upon reading the Petition of Sir Thomas Bateman;
shewing, "That he hath served Sir Thomas Foote with
the Order of this House, for putting in an Answer to his Petition, which he hath not yet done:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir Thomas Foote be, and is hereby, required peremptorily to
put in an Answer thereunto, on Wednesday the 11th of
June Instant.
Stickland versus Coker.
Whereas this House enlarged the Time for Robert
Coker to put in an Answer to the Petition of John
Stickland, he being in the Country afar off; and now
being informed he is in Town:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Coker of
Maypowder be, and is hereby, required to put in an
Answer thereunto within One Week next after Notice
given him for that Purpose.
Deeping Fens Bill.

vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for incorporating the Undertakers for the Draining of Deeping
Fens."
ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill is
committed to a Committee of the whole House.
Accordingly the House was adjourned into a Committee presently.
The House was resumed.
And the Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the
Committee have entered into some Consideration of
the Bill concerning Deeping Fenns, but do desire to
meet again on Thursday come Sevennight; in the
mean Time, that Notice be given by the Sheriff of
Lyncolneshire, at Stamford and Spalding, and the several Churches within Deeping Feens, that this Bill
will be taken into further Consideration on Thursday
Sevennight, at Ten of the Clock; at which Time
all Persons concerned may be (fn. *) heard for or against
the said Bill."
Hereupon the House ordered as follows:
Sheriff of Lincolnshire to give Notice of the Commitment of it.
"Upon the Second Reading of the Bill for draining
Deeping Fens: It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That
the Sheriff for the County of Lyncolne do give Notice, at the Towns of Stamford and Spalding, and
the several Churches within Deeping Fen, that the
said Bill will be taken into further Consideration
on Thursday the 18th Day of June Instant, at Ten
of the Clock; at which Time all Persons concerned
may be heard what they have to say for or against
the same."

Janoway & al. versus Bedford & al.
This House being moved, "That a Day may be
appointed, for hearing a Cause depending in this
House, wherein William Janoway and his Wife and
Robert Dickins are Plaintiffs, and Thomas Bedford
and others Defendants:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will
hear Counsel at the Bar, upon the said Petitions and
Answer, on Monday the 15th of June Instant, at Ten of
the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said William
Janoway is to cause Notice to be given to the said Thomas Bedford and others Defendants, to the End they
may attend at the said Hearing accordingly.
Dacres versus Chute.
Upon Report made from the Committee for Petitions,
"That they have heard Counsel for the Lady Dacres
upon her Petition referred unto them by the House,
as also the Counsel of Mr. Chute, complained of in
the said Petition; and, upon Consideration thereof,
their Lordships are of Opinion, that the Cause is
not fit to be heard at the Bar:"
After Debate hereof, it is ORDERED, by the Lords
Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That
the said Lady Dacres do enter into a Recognizance of
One Hundred Pounds, to abide the Judgement of this
House; and that this House will hear Counsel, at the
Bar, upon the said Petition of the Lady Dacres on Saturday the 13th of June Instant, at Ten of the Clock
in the Forenoon; before which Time, Challoner Chute
may put in an Answer to the said Petition, if he think
fit, and be heard also by his Counsel at the Time aforesaid, as likewise concerning any Matter in his Petition
concerning the Decrees complained of; to which Petition the Lady Dacres may put in her Answer before
the Time, if she think fit; but neither Side are to be
heard concerning any Orders of the Court of Chancery which are not yet drawn up.
Dowager Ly. Pawlet versus Lord Pawlet.
A Petition of the Lady Pawlet was offered, and
read, to be exchanged and stand in this House instead
of her former Petition:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Defendants
have Notice hereof, and a Copy delivered them by
the Lady Pawlet, gratis; and that it be filed instead of
the former.
