The Earl of Rochester reported from the Committee,
the Bill, intituled, "An Act to vest the Estate of Henry
Drax deceased, in Thomas Shatterden Gentleman; and
to enable the said Thomas Shatterden and others, to
whom the said Estate is devised, to make a Jointure,"
with some Amendments.
The Amendments were read Twice, and agreed to;
and the Bill ordered to be engrossed.
Maynard versus E. Suffolk.
The Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported from the
Lords Committees for Privileges, "That whilst their
Lordships were in Consideration of the Petition of
Elizabeth Maynard Widow (referred by the House
to them), praying, that she may have Leave to proceed in Chancery against the Earl of Suffolke and his
Countess, notwithstanding the Privilege of Parliament; their Lordships were informed, that the Earl
of Suffolke will wave his Privilege."
To which the House agreed.
Ld. Widdrington versus E. Derby.
The Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported from the Lords
Committees for Privileges, "That their Lordships have
considered the Petition of the Lord Widdrington, and
the Answer of the Earl of Derby thereunto; and
their Lordships are of Opinion, that the Lord Widdrington may file a Bill, and take out usual Process,
in order only to examine Witnesses, to perpetuate
their Testimony, as desired in the Petition; the same
being according to the Standing Order of the House,
of the Third of July One Thousand Six Hundred
Seventy-eight:"
To which the House agreed, and ordered the same
accordingly.
Watts versus Hoskins, a Master in Chancery:
The Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported from the
Lords Committees for Privileges, to whom was referred the Petition of William Watts, Batchelor in Divinity,
and Rector of the Rectory of Dore, in the County of
Hereford, praying Liberty to proceed against Sir John
Hoskyns; a Master in Chancery, for Tithes, notwithstanding the Privilege by him claimed, "That the
Committee had ordered him to report the Matter
specially to the House:"
No Privilege for Tithes.
And, after Consideration thereof, it is ORDERED and
Declared, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in
Parliament assembled, That, in any Suit for Tithes, no
Privilege of this House shall be allowed.
Conference about intercepted Papers.
The Commons being come to the Conference, the
Managers Names were read that managed the former
Conference in this Case; and the House was adjourned
during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference.
Which being ended, the House was resumed.

of the Clock in the Forenoon, this House shall be put
into a Committee, to consider of the Book of Accompts
sent hither by the said Commissioners, and their Observations thereon; and that the Committee shall have
Power to name a Sub-committee, to examine such Things
as they shall think fit; and no other Business to intervene; and that all the Lords be summoned then to attend.
