It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal
in Parliament assembled, That the Muster-master General, or his Deputy, do attend the Lords Committees appointed to consider of a Bill, intituled, An Act for

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Lords Committees (appointed to draw an Address to be presented
to His Majesty upon the Report Yesterday), an Address;
Which, being read, was agreed to, and is as followeth; (videlicet,)
Address relating to Repair of Forts, and the Navy.
"We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament
assembled, in Compliance with Your Majesty's most
Gracious Speech, at the Opening of this present
Parliament, relating to the better Security of the
Nation, both at Sea and Land, and in Discharge of
the Duty perpetually incumbent on us, to take Care
for the Safety of Your Majesty's Person and Government, have considered the present Condition of the
Royal Navy, as likewise of the Fortifications of the
principal Places where the same is to be laid up when
it comes into Harbour; and we find, upon Examination of those Matters with the Commissioners for
executing the Office of Lord High Admiral of England, as likewise with the Master and Officers of
Your Majesty's Ordnance, that the fitting for Sea Service of such Ships of War as the said Commissioners
do judge most proper to be in the First Place repaired,
and may be performed within the Year One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-nine, would amount to the
Sum of One Hundred Sixty-six Thousand Seven
Hundred Thirty-two Pounds, Four Shillings, and Ten
Pence; and the Fortifications of the aforesaid Places,
for the Security of the Navy when in Harbour, which
may likewise be performed within the same Year, will
amount to the Sum of Eighty Seven Thousand Seven
Hundred Pounds; the Particulars of both which Services we have here annexed, for Your Majesty's fuller
Information; and we are humbly of Opinion, that the
Performance of the same, within the Time abovementioned, will conduce very much to the Safety of Your
Majesty's Person and Government, the Benefit of Trade,
and the Advantage and Security of the Kingdom:
