Riddell's Bill.
The Lord Audley reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the selling the
Manor of Fenham, in the County of Northumberland,
for Payment of the Debts of Thomas Riddell Esquire
and Edward Riddell his Son, and for raising Portions
for the Daughters of the said Thomas Riddell," as fit
to pass, with some Amendments.
Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the
Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act
for naturalizing John Ricard, Jacob Dabbadie, and
others."
The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with
the Amendments, shall pass?"

Jackson versus D. of Devon, for Leave to sue him.
Upon reading the Petition of Benjamine Jackson
Mason; shewing, "That his Grace the Duke of Devon
employed him in building at Chatsworth, in Derbysb'r;
and refusing to pay the Petitioner what is due to him,
he humbly prays Liberty to sue his Grace the Duke
of Devonsh'r, in order to recover his Debt:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition shall
be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees
for Privileges; who are to hear such Persons thereupon
as they shall think fit, and are afterwards to report to
the House.
D. of Norfolk's Bill for a Divorce.
Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and
put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An
Act to dissolve the Duke of Norfolk's Marriage with
the Lady Mary Mordant, and to enable him to marry
again."
The House was resumed.
And the Lord Herbert reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill, with several
Amendments."
Which were read Twice, and agreed to.
And then a Clause in the 3d and 4th Sh. of the Bill
was read at the Table, and this Amendment made to it;
(videlicet,)
4th Sh. 1st L. after ["henceforth"], add ["so far as
concerns the said Lady Mary, or any Issue of her
Body, or any in Trust for her or them"].
Which was also read Twice, and agreed to; and the
Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.
Bastards, to prevent, &c. the getting of Bill.
ORDERED, That this House shall be put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for preventing and punishing the begetting of Bastard Children," on Thursday next.
