Rhodes v. De Beauvoir.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of William
Rhodes, complaining of a Decree of the Court of Chancery of the 12th of January 1829, but which Decree was
not enrolled until the 30th of December 1829, made in
Two certain Causes, in the first of which Richard Benyon
De Beauvoir was Plaintiff, and William Rhodes, Thomas
Tebbutt the elder, Thomas Tebbutt the younger, John
Tebbutt and His Majesty's Attorney General, were Defendants; and in the second, the said William Rhodes
was Plaintiff, and the said Richard Benyon De Beauvoir
Defendant; and praying, "That the said Decree may be
reversed or varied, or that the Appellant may have
such Relief in the Premises, as to this House, in their
Lordships great Wisdom, shall seem meet; and that
the said Richard Benyon De Beauvoir may be required
to answer the said Appeal:"
It is Ordered, That the said Richard Benyon De Beauvoir may have a Copy of the said Appeal, and do put in
his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Monday

Agricultural Distress, Petition from Chipping Norton respecting, & for Repeal of Malt & Beer Duties.
Upon reading the Petition of the Owners and Occupiers
of Land in the Vicinity of Chipping Norton, in the County
of Oxford, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships "to take into their Consideration, at
the earliest Period possible of the Session, the present
State of the Agricultural Distress; and to repeal the
Taxes upon Malt and Beer:"
It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the

Game Laws, Petition of Magistrates of Derbyshire for Alteration of.
Upon reading the Petition of the Magistrates of the
County of Derby assembled at their Quarter Sessions,
whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their
Lordships "to take the Game Laws into their serious
Consideration, and to make such Alterations in them
as they may deem best calculated to remove the
manifold Evils of the present System:"
It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the

East India, &c. Trade, Petition from Leeds for opening, referred to East India Com ee.
Upon reading the Petition of the Bankers, Merchants,
Manufacturers and others interested in the Town and
Trade of Leeds, in the County of York, whose Names are
thereunto subscribed; praying, "That their Lordships
will immediately institute an Inquiry into the State of
the Trade between Great Britain, the East Indies and
China; and that, in Exercise of the Power reserved to
Parliament by the Act of the Fifty-third Year of His
late Majesty's Reign, the exclusive Commercial Privileges of the United Company of Merchants trading
to the East Indies may be determined by Three Years
Notice, given at the earliest Period the Law will permit;
and that at the Expiration of such Notice the Petitioners, together with the rest of His Majesty's Subjects,
may enjoy a full and free Participation in the Trade
with the East Indies and China, as well as the Right
of settling, trading, and holding Lands within all the
British Dependencies East of the Cape of Good Hope:"

Select Committee appointed to enquire into the present
State of the Affairs of The East India Company, and into

Distress of the Country, Petition from Cheshire respecting, &c.
Upon reading the Petition of the Nobility, Gentry,
Clergy and Freeholders of the County Palatine of Chester,
whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their
Lordships, "That the earliest possible Day after the
Meeting of Parliament be fixed for taking into Consideration the Distress which exists in every Part of the
Country, Agricultural as well as Commercial; when
the Petitioners trust that such a Reduction in the
Taxation of the Country at large as is consistent with
Honor may be effected, and a rigid System of Economy
in every Department adopted and enforced, to answer
the Deficiency in the Revenue that will consequently
take place; and that their Lordships will further adopt
such Measures as may tend effectually to remove the
present State of Distress:"
