Embassy from Denmark.
The House being informed, that the Lords Ambassadors Extraordinary from the King of Denmark were
ready to attend the Parliament, for their Audience;
The Serjeant by the Command of the House, went,
with his Mace, to attend them from the Court of Wards.
And, when the Lords Ambassadors were entered within the House, they uncovered their Heads: Mr. Speaker,
and the Members of the House, being likewise uncovered, stood up.
And, from the Bar, the Master of the Ceremonies, and
the Serjeant at Arms, attended them, the one on the
Right-hand, the other on the Left, to Two Chairs with
Elbows, placed on the North Side of the House:
Where being set, the Lord Peter Reetz made a Latin
Oration: Which he presented in Writing, in Latin and
English, by the Master of the Ceremonies.
And, after the usual Civilities performed mutually, the
Lords Ambassadors departed out of the House; and were
attended by the Master of the Ceremonies, and Serjeant
at Arms, to the Court of Wards.
The Oration made by the said Lord Peter Reetz was
read in English.
Resolved, That it be referred to the Council of State,
that they do, in the Name of the Parliament, return
Thanks unto the Lords Ambassadors Extraordinary from
the King of Denmark; together with a civil Answer to
what was by them this Day delivered in Parliament: And
also to give them a summary Account of the Grounds of
the present Difference with the States General of the
United Provinces; and of the Necessity of the Parliament's
Proceedings in reference thereunto.

Resolved, That the Council of State do report the Declaration, touching the Proceedings between them and
the Dutch Ambassadors, on Tuesday next; with Power
