Duchy of Lancaster.
ORDERED, That the Petition for the County Palatine of Lancaster be read on Thursday Morning
next: And that the Act formerly ordered to be brought
in, for taking away the County Palatine of Lancaster, be
brought in, and read on that Day.
Preacher appointed.
Resolved, That Mr. Cradock be excused from preaching before the Parliament, at Margarett's, Westminster,
on Tuesday the 12th of April next.
Ordered, That Mr. Obadiah Sedgwick be desired to
preach before the Parliament, at Margarett's, Westminster, on Tuesday the 12th of April next, being a Day set
apart for Publick Thanksgiving: And that Colonel Bossevile do give him Notice thereof.
Propagating the Gospel.
The House this Day resumed the Debate upon the
Proposals for Propagation of the Gospel, formerly reported.
And the Third Proposal was read:
The Question being put, That the Words, "Eminency and" do stand in this Proposal;
It passed with the Negative.
Resolved, That a certain Number of Persons, Ministers,
and others, of known Ability and Godliness, be appointed
to sit in every County to examine, judge, and approve,
all such Persons, as, being called to preach the Gospel,
have received Testimonials, as above: And, in case there
shall not be found a competent Number of such Persons
in the same County, that others of one or more Neighbour Counties be joined to them.
The House, according to former Order, adjourned
itself to Tuesday Morning next, Eight of Clock.
