Gibson's Petition.
MR. Strickland reports from the Council of State,
The humble Petition of Sir Alexander Gibson, of
Dury, directed to the Council of State: Which was this
Day read.
Resolved, That it be referred to the Commissioners for
Administration of Justice in Scotland, to examine the
Truth of this Petition; and to do the Petitioners Right,
according to the Laws of that Nation.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Mr. French have Leave for a Fortnight
to go into the Country.
Mestham Minister.
Resolved, That Mr. Abraham Murline be, and is hereby,
vested and settled Minister of Mestham, in the County of
Surrey, in the Place and Stead of Mr. Simon Blackwall,
deceased.
Orders of the House.
Resolved, That the Committee to whom the Consideration of the Orders of the House were referred, do make
their Report on Monday next.
Forfeited Estates.
The House resumed the Debate upon the Bill, intituled,
A further Additional Act for the Sale of several Lands
and Estates forfeited to the Commonwealth for Treason.
A Proviso was tendered to this Bill, in these Words;
viz. "Provided always, This Act shall not give Power to
the Trustees to sell any of the Estates of such Persons as
the Commissioners for Compounding, at HaberdashersHall, have discharged out of the Acts for Sale, or that
shall discharge by the First of December next:" Which
was read the First time.
And the Question being put, That this Proviso be
read the Second time;
It passed with the Negative.
And the Question being put, For the Passing of this
Bill;
It passed with the Negative.
Proceedings against Lilbourne.
Resolved, That the House do take into Consideration
the Carriage of the Trial of Lieutenant-Colonel John
Lilbourne, on Friday next.
