Prayers.
Settling the Government.
THE House (according to former Order) was resolved into a Committee of the whole House, upon
the Government.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins was called to the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Hoskins reports the Desire of the said Committee,
That the House would give Leave that they may sit
again To-morrow Morning.
Resolved, That the House be resolved into a Grand
Committee of the whole House To-morrow Morning,
upon the Government, according to former Order.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Colonel Russell, a Member of Parliament, being sick, have Leave to go into the Country for
a Fortnight.
Poole, &c. Writs.
Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper being chosen to serve for
the County of Wiltes, for the Town and County of Poole,
and for the Borough of Tewksbury, chooseth to serve for
the County of Wiltes, and waves the Town and County
of Poole, and the Borough of Tewksbury.
Ordered, That a Warrant issue forth, under Mr.
Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Commonwealth, for a new Writ for electing of another Burgess
to serve for the Town and County of Poole, in the Room
and Stead of Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper, who waved his
Election for the said Town and County of Poole.
Ordered, That a Warrant issue forth, under Mr.
Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Commonwealth, for the Issuing forth of a new Writ for Electing
of another Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for
the Borough of Tewksbury, in the County of * in the
Room and Stead of Sir Anthony Ashley Cooper, who
waved his Election for the Borough.
Somerset, &c. Writs.
General Disbrow, chosen to serve for Cambridgeshire,
Somersetshire, and the Town of Totnes in the County of
Devon, chooseth to serve for Cambridgeshire, and waves
his Election for Somersetshire.
Ordered, That a Warrant issue forth, under Mr. Speaker's
Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Commonwealth, for
the Issuing forth of a new Writ for Electing of another
Knight to serve in this present Parliament for the County
of Somerset, in the Room and Stead of General Disbrow,
who waved his Election for the said County.
Ordered, That a Warrant issue forth under Mr.
Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Commonwealth, for the Issuing forth of a new Writ for Electing
of another Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for
the Town of Totnes in the County of Devon, in the Room
and Stead of General Disbrow, who waved his Election
for the said Town.
Isle of Wight Writ.
Colonel Sidenham, chosen to serve for the County of
Dorset and the Isle of Wight, chooseth to serve for the
County of Dorset, and waves his Election for the Isle of
Wight.
Ordered, That a Warrant issue forth, under Mr.
Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Commonwealth, for the Issuing forth of a new Writ for Electing
of another Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for
the Isle of Wight, in the County of Hants, in the Room
and Stead of Colonel Sidenham, who waved his Election
for the said Isle of Wight.
