THE House being set, the Serjeant was sent with his Mace into Westminster-Hall, to require the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, the Judges, and Lawyers, who are Members of the House, to attend the Service of the House.

Mr. Pedley reports (from the Committee appointed to consider of an Answer to be returned to his Highness, upon what was by him offered, as to the 16th Article) the Opinion of the said Committee in Writing: Which was read; and taken into Debate by Parts.

The Preamble being read;

Resolved, That the House doth agree with the Committee in this Preamble.

The several Ordinances and Acts were put to the Question one-by-one.

The Question being propounded, That the House doth agree with the Committee, as to the Ordinance appointing Commissioners for Approbation of publick Preachers;

And the Question being put, That these Words, viz. "Provided, That the Commissioners to be hereafter named, in the Intervals of Parliament, shall be afterwards approved by Parliament," be Part of the Question;

It passed in the Affirmative.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee, as to the (fn. [a]) Ordinance appointing Commissioners for Approbation of publick Preachers, with this Proviso; "Provided, That the Commissioners to be hereafter named in the Intervals of Parliament, shall be afterwards approved by Parliament."

Resolved, That this Debate be adjourned till Three of the Clock this Afternoon.

Irish Adventurers.

The Question being put, for agreeing with the Committee, touching an Ordinance appointing a Committee of the Adventurers for Lands in Ireland, for determining Differences among the said Adventurers:

It passed in the Negative.

The Question being put, That the House doth agree with the Committee, touching an Ordinance for the Ejection of scandalous, ignorant, and insufficient Ministers and Schoolmasters;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

So it passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That the Ordinance for the Ejection of scandalous, ignorant, and insufficient Ministers and Schoolmasters, be continued for Three Years, unless the Parliament take further Order therein in the mean time.
