Popham's Claims.
ORDERED, That the Committee touching Colonel
Popham's Business do meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.
Education of late King's Children.
Sir James Harrington reports from the Council of
State, That Sir Edward Harrington, in respect of his
Sickness, desires to be excused from taking upon him the
Education of the Duke of Gloucester and the Lady
Elizabeth.
Sir E. Harrington.
Ordered, That the Business touching Sir Edward
Harrington be taken up To-morrow Morning, the first
Business.
Essex.
Ordered, That the Business touching Essex be taken up,
next after the Act for Sale of Dean and Chapters Lands.
Excise.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Excise, to consider of a more regular Way for the Ordering
and Improving of the Excise; and to bring in a Model
to that Purpose : And that the Committee do meet To-morrow; and do sit de die in diem: And all that come are
to have Voices, as to that Purpose: And that the
Committee make their Report on Wednesday next.
Usury.
Ordered, That the Bill touching Usury be read To-morrow Morning.
Plymouth Garison.
Sir Arthur Heslerigg reports from the Council of State,
That there is a Necessity of about Thirteen hundred Pounds,
for the Paying off of the present Garison of Plymouth.
Ordered, That the Committee of the Army be required
to give Warrant to the Treasurers at War, to make Payment forthwith of the Sum of Thirteen hundred Pounds,
for the Paying off of the present Garison of Plymouth:
And that they reimburse themselves out of the first
Monies that shall be by them received: And that the said
Treasurers at War be required forthwith to make Payment
thereof accordingly.
Admission of a Member.
Colonel Ludlowe reports, That the Committee touching absent Members have received Satisfaction touching
Mr. Robert Andrews, a Member of this House.
Ordered, That Mr. Robert Andrewes be admitted to sit
in the House.
Deans and Chapters Lands.
An Act for abolishing Deans and Chapters, and for
Sale of Deans and Chapters Lands, was this Day read
the Third time; and the Debate thereupon adjourned
until To-morrow Morning.
