Excise.
THE House, according to former Order, was resolved into a Grand Committee, upon the Business
of the Excise.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Stephens took the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Stephens reports from the Grand Committee, That
the Grand Committee desire Leave, that a Report may
be made from that Committee To-morrow Morning, as
soon as Mr. Speaker takes the Chair, how far they have
proceeded in the Business of the Excise: And that the
Committee have adjourned till Tuesday Morning, Eight of
Clock; and desire the Leave of the House therein.
Resolved, That Mr. Stephens do make Report from the
Grand Committee To-morrow Morning, as soon as Mr.
Speaker takes the Chair.
Resolved, &c. That the House be resolved into a Grand
Committee, on Tuesday next, upon the Business of the
Excise: And that Mr. Speaker do forbear to take the
Chair.
Can-Wood, &c.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Council of State,
That they take Consideration of the Wood called CanWood, in the County of Hereford; and likewise of the
other Wood in Kent, Parcel of the late Dean and Chapters Lands; and report the State of the Business to the
House.
Ordered, That the Sale, and all further Proceedings
thereupon, and likewise the Cutting down of the said
Woods, or any of them, be stayed, until this House take
further Order: And the Trustees and Contractors for
Sale of Dean and Chapters Lands, and all others whom
it concerns, are to take notice hereof.
