ORDERED, by the Parliament, That the House do take into Consideration the Business touching the Council of State, on Monday Morning next, the first Business.

Northern Officers.

Ordered, by the Parliament, That the Business of the Northern Officers be taken into Consideration on Tuesday Morning next, the first Business; nothing to intervene: And Mr. Speaker is to put the House in mind thereof.

Norfolk Weavers.

Ordered, by the Parliament, That Mr. Myles Corbett be added to the Committee touching the Worsted Weavers in Norfolk and Norwich: And that he take special Care of that Business; and report the same with all convenient Speed.

Danger from Powder in London, &c.

The humble Petition of the Inhabitants of East Smithfeild, of the Tower Hamlets, was this Day read.

Ordered, by the Parliament, That it be referred to the Committee of the Militia of the Tower Hamlets, that they take special Care, within their Precincts, of the Removing of Powder out of private Houses, and other Places, for Preventing of any Mischiefs, that may be occasioned thereby.

Removing Delinquents.

Ordered, That the Bill touching Delinquents departing this Town, and the late Lines of Communication, be brought in on Monday Morning next.

Ship Sancta Clara.

Mr. Martyn reports from the Council of State, the State of the Business touching the Ship Sancta Clara, That it be reported to the Parliament, That, in pursuance of their Order of the Fifth of December, this Council hath taken into Consideration the Business of the Ship Sancta Clara, by the said Order referred unto them; and they find, that there was a civil Action, instituted in the Court of Admiralty, against the Goods in the said Sancta Clara, by Colonel Randall Mainwairing, and Partners, as being the Goods of certain Persons, Spaniards, by whom a Ship and Goods of theirs had been depredated at Sea: That, in the said Action, a Sentence absolutory was given for the Spaniards; from which there was an Appeal by the said Colonel Mainwaring, and Partners, to Judges Delegates, where the said Appeal remains undetermined: That, until the said Appeal be determined, this Council cannot give any Opinion what is sit to be done concerning the Goods of the said Sancta Clara, either in respect of the said Colonel Mainwaring, and Partners, or the other Pretenders: In which Affair, that there may be no Delay, that the House be desired to give Order to the Judges Delegates to proceed to the Determination of the said Appeal, with all convenient Expedition: But the Council finds, that, which way soever the Sentence upon the Appeal shall pass, yet the Parliament are obliged, by their own Orders, to pay the said Monies to whom the same shall appear to be due: And therefore that the Parliament be moved, That they will take it into their speedy Consideration, how the said Money may be provided.

Ordered, That the Commissioners, in the Commission of Delegates, upon the Appeal of Colonel Mainwaring, and Partners, against the Proprietors of the Ship Sancta Clara, be required to proceed upon that Appeal.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy, to consider how this Fifty thousand Pounds may be provided.

Publick Register.

An Act for the Abstracting and Registring of all Matters of Record within England, the Dominion of Wales, and the Town of Barwick, was this Day read the First time; and, upon the Question, ordered to be read the Second time This-day-fortnight.

Ale and Beer.

An Act for collecting and gathering the Excise of Ale and Beer, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, committed to the Committee of Excise: And that the same be brought in on Tuesday Morning next.

Horses, &c. to be sold.

Ordered, That the Six Horses, and other Goods, taken by the Marshal General, and others, from Abraham Granger, John Granger, Wm. Broome, and Nicholas Greenoway, be forthwith sold, and put to Account, for the Use of the Commonwealth: And that the Committee of the Army be impowered, from time to time, to give Order and Directions therein.

Charge against Clotworthy, &c.

The Lord Commissioner Lisle reports from the Council of State, a Paper, containing the Charge of George Wood against Sir John Clotworthy and Mr. Davies: That the Paper of Mr. Anthony Larder, of London, Merchant, concerning Sir John Clotworthy, be referred to the House; and also the Paper containing the Charge of George Wood against Sir John Clotworthy and Mr. Davies: And the Lord Commissioner Lisle is desired to make this Report.

To the Right honourable Council of Stats:

The humble Representation of Anthony Larder of London, Merchant, late Accomptant to the Committee for taking and receiving the Accompts of the whole Kingdom, in Discharge of his Engagements to your Honours, and the State; Sheweth,

That, in the Stating of Sir John Clotworthie's Accompt, certified to the Right honourable the House of Commons, in Parliament assembled, the Twenty-ninth Day of August 1648, there was incredible Fraud, Connivance, and Deceit, used, by the said Committee of Accompts, to the Prejudice of the State, Fourteen or Fifteen thousand Pounds: Which he conceived himself, in Duty, bound to represent to your Honours mature Consideration; and to offer himself, in Proof of the Premises, to be,

Allenson, Mr. Snelling, Mr. Nevill, Mr. Aldworth, Mr. John Goodwyn, Mr. Darley, Colonel Bossevile, Alderman Atkins, Colonel Barker, Colonel Downes, Colonel Fielder, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Pury junior, or any Five of them; to examine this Information of Mr. Larder; and to view the Accompt; and examine the Particulars, wherein the Abuses are alledged to have been committed: And this Committee have Power to send for Persons, Papers, Records, and Witnesses: And this Committee are to meet, in the Exchequer Chamber, on Monday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Canwood.

Mr. Marten reports from the Council of State, the Business touching Canwood; viz.

"That the State of the Case of Mr. Pury, and his Partners, making Purchase of Canwood in Herefordshire, be reported to the House: And Mr. Martyn is desired to make this Report to the House.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Navy: With Power given to them to become Purchasers thereof, if they shall find it advantageous for the Commonwealth: And that they declare their Resolution therein before the Twenty-fifth Day of March next, that the Purchasers may be at Liberty to take the Benefit of the Purchase, if the said Committee shall not think fit to purchase the same.
