Prayers.
Transporting Prisoners.
AN Act for Transporting of Sixty Prisoners out of
the Gaol of Newgate into Ireland, and English
Plantations, was this Day read the First and Second time.
And the Question being put to agree, That these
Words in the said Act, "or hereafter to be attainted or
convicted," do stand in this Act;
It passed with the Negative.
Resolved, That the said Act be committed unto Mr.
Hill, Alderman Pennyngton, Mr. Holland, Mr. Millington, Sir Thomas Wroth, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Oldsworth,
Alderman Allen, Lord Grey, Mr. Edwards, Sir Wm.
Allanson, Mr. Ashe, Mr. Attorney General, Mr. Moyle,
Alderman Atkins, Colonel Popham; or any Three of
them: And are to meet in the Speaker's Chamber this
Afternoon; and so de die in diem.
Navy.
Ordered, That the Business of the Navy and Admiralty
be taken up on Thursday Morning next, the first Business;
nothing to intervene.

The humble Petition of Sir Abraham Williams Knight,
was this Day read.
Naval Affairs.
A Letter from aboard the State's Ship Fairefax, in
Cadize Bay, the Twenty-sixth of March 1651, from Wm.
Penn; with a List of the Ships and Vessels seized by the
Squadron of the State-ships, under the Command of
Captain Penn; were this Day read.
A Letter from aboard the President Frigate, of Newcastle, May the Seventh 1651, from Anthony Younge;
and another Letter from Sea, near Newcastle, May the
Seventh, 1651, from Theodore Jennings; were this Day
read.
A Letter from Edenburgh, of the Sixth of May 1651,
from George Downing, was this Day read.
Ordered, by the Parliament, That Colonel Pen's Letter, together with the List therein inclosed, be referred
to the Committee of the Navy; to take the same into
Consideration.
Embassy from Portugall.
Mr. Scott reports from the Council of State, The last
Paper sent from the said Council to the Publick Minister
of Portugall, dated the Seventh of May 1651; together
with Two Papers sent from him, in Answer thereunto.
Which were all this Day read.
The Question being put, That the said Papers of the
Publick Minister of Portugall, or either of them, are
satisfactory;
It passed with the Negative.
Resolved, by the Parliament, That it be referred to
the Council of State, to communicate to the Publick
Minister of Portugall this Vote upon his last Papers.
Dover Castle.
Mr. Scott reports from the Council of State;
"That, in pursuance of the Order of Parliament, of
the * of April last, this Council conceiving Lieutenant Colonel Kelsey to be a fit Man to take Charge of
the Castle of Dover, as Governor, have given Order to
him to go down to take the Charge and Care of the
same."
Resolved, by the Parliament, That Lieutenant Colonel
Kelsey be sent down, to take the Charge and Care of the
Castle of Dover, as Governor: And that the Council
of State be impowered to give him a Commission,
accordingly.
