Privilege.
ORDERED, That it be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections, to examine the
Breach of Privilege alleged by Sir Richard Onslow, to be
committed by one Mr. Lucy, and Mr. Dixy Long his
Attorney, Mr. Elsy his Solicitor, Mr. Skipwith, and Mr.
Awborne the Under Sheriff, by turning the said Sir
Richard Onslow out of Possession of certain Lands (without Notice given) at such Time as he ought to have had
Privilege of Parliament: And the Committee is to send
for the said Mr. Lucy, Mr. Long, Mr. Elsy, Mr. Skipwith, and Mr. Awborne, and other Persons concerned;
and such Papers and Records as they shall find necessary;
and report the Matter of Fact to the House.
Goldsmiths Wares.
A Bill for the preventing the Stealing of Plate, Jewels,
and Goldsmiths Wares; and also for the Reformation of
sundry Inconveniences in the Goldsmiths Trade; was
this Day read the First time.
Resolved, That this Bill be read the Second time on
Monday Morning next.
Abuses in Elections.
A Bill for future Redress and Prevention of sundry
Abuses in Elections and Returns of Members to serve in
Parliament, was this Day read the First time.
Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time on
This-day-sevennight.
Transporting Felons.
A Bill for Transporting of Felons and Rogues into
Foreign Plantations, was this Day read the First time.
Ordered, That this Bill be read again, the Second
time, on Monday next; which Time is appointed for
reading another Bill against Rogues and Vagabonds.
Common Lands.
A Bill for the better Regulating and Ordering of Common Fields, was this Day read the First time.
Resolved, That this Bill be read the Second time on
Monday next.
Calamay's Case.
Upon Motion made by Order of the Committee to
whom Mr. Calamy's Business was referred, That they
doubted whether they could send for his Sermon, and the
Bishop of London's Certificate made in his Case, by
reason that the usual Order for sending for Persons,
Papers, and Records, was Yesterday omitted;
Resolved, That the said Committee have Power to
send for such Persons, Papers, and Records, as they
shall judge fit.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow
