THEODORE Haak did this Day take the Oaths
of Allegiance and Supremacy, before Mr. Speaker,
at the Clerk's Table, in Order to his Naturalization.
Fire of London.
Ordered, That the Report of the Committee appointed
to inquire into the Causes of the late Fire, be heard on
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Sir Robert Brooke have the Leave of
this House to go into the Country.
The House did then proceed to the Hearing of the
Cause between Mr. Robarts and Mr. Wynn, and others,
upon the Bill depending in this House, for setting aside
a pretended Will, and settling the Estate of John Bodvile
And the Parties and their Counsel being called to the
Bar of the House;
Sir Wm. Scroggs, Mr. Calthrop, Mr. Jones, and others,
of Counsel with Mr. Robarts, having stated and opened
the Case on his Behalf; and divers Witnesses being examined at the Par, some of them cross-examined on the
other Side; and the Depositions of some Witnesses which
were dead, and others which were sick, being read; as
also a Letter of Mr. Bodvile;
And some Debate arising, Whether Mrs. Bodvile Mother of Mrs. Robarts, should be admitted a Witness;
The Parties and Counsel being withdrawn; and the
Matter being debated in the House;
The Question being put, That Mrs. Bodvile be admitted a Witness;
It was resolved in the Affirmative.
And Mrs. Bodvile, with several other Witnesses, being
examined on the Behalf of Mr. Robarts;
Resolved, &c. That the House will proceed in the
further Hearing of the Cause concerning Mr. Robarts
and Mr. Wynne on Wednesday.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Mr. Millward have Leave to go into
Ordered, That all Committees that were to sit this
Afternoon, be adjourned till Thursday next, Two of the
Clock in the Afternoon.
