Leave of Absence.
ORDERED, That Sir George Faunt have the Leave
of this House to go into the Country.
Ordered, That Sir Thomas Tompkins and Mr. Rigby
have the Leave of this House to go into the Country,
after Sunday next.
Committees.
Ordered, That all Committees which are discontinued,
be revived; and do sit this Afternoon.
Poll Bill.
Mr. Steward reports from the Committee of the whole
House, several Amendments agreed to be made, and
Clauses and Provisoes to be added, to the Poll Bill:
Which he read, with the Coherence; and after, delivered
the same in at the Clerk's Table.
And most of the Amendments, Clauses, and Provisoes,
with other Provisoes tendered and received in the House,
were twice read; and, with some Alterations, upon the
Question, agreed, and made thereto at the Table, were,
upon the Question, severally agreed to.
A Debate being upon the Amendment for assessing
the Rate where Families reside at the Time of Execution
of the Act;
Resolved, &c. That it be referred to Sir Wm. Lowther,
Sir Anth. Irby, Sir John Lowther, Mr. Rigby, Sir Fran.
Goodrick, Sir Thom. Osborne, Sir Thom. Meeres, Mr. Steward, Colonel Birch, Sir Phill. Warwick, Sir Wm. Coventry, Sir Edm. Wallpoole, or any Three of them, to bring in
the Clause amended, upon the Debate of the House.
Resolved, &c. That the Words "Dominion of Wales,
and Town of Berwick upon Tweed," be inserted, and the
Words "within the Kingdom" omitted, in the several
Places of the Bill where it is necessary: And that it be
referred to the same Committee, or any Three of them,
to see it done; and to examine the Bill, with the Amendments; and to see that the same do cohere; and that it
be rightly ingrossed.
Resolved, &c. That the further Debate of the Matter
on the Poll Bill be adjourned till To-morrow Morning.
