Day take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy,
in order to his Naturalization.
Leventhorp's Estate.
Ordered, &c. That Sir Tho. Leventhorp's Committee
be revived, and do sit this Afternoon: And that Sir
Ralph Hare, Mr. Waldron, Sir Edward Walpoole, Sir
John Norton, be added to the Committee.
Miscarriages of the War.
Ordered, That Sir Fretzville Hollis, and Sir John
Norton, be added to the Committee to inquire after the
Miscarriages of the late War.
Committee of Privileges.
Ordered, That Sir Fretzville Hollis be added to the
Committee of Elections.
Williams' Estate.
A Bill for the Sale of Lands for Payment of the Debts,
and making Provision for the Lady and Daughters of Sir
Henry Williams, deceased, was read the First time.
Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time on
Tuesday next.
Repairing Highways.
Ordered, That Sir Henry Capell be added to the
Committee for Highways.
London Merchants Petition.
A Petition of Sir William Ryder, &c. on the Behalf
of themselves, and many other Merchants in and about
London; and a Narrative of their Case, thereto annexed;
was read.
The Question was propounded, That this Petition be
referred to a Committee;
The Question being put, That the Question be now put;
It passed in the Negative.
Privilege- Freedom of Speech.
The House then resumed the Debate of the Report
concerning the Freedom of Speech in Parliament: And
the Statute of 4° Hen. VIII, concerning Richard Strode,
being read; and the Report again read; and the Matter
debated;
Resolved, &c. That the Judgment given, 5° Car',
against Sir John Elliott, Denzill Hollis, and Benjamin Vallintine Esquires, in the King's Bench, was an illegal Judgment, and against the Freedom of Privileges of Parliament.
Conference with Lords.
A Message from the Lords, by Sir Justinian Lewin and
Sir William Glasscocke;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords desire a present Conference
with this House, on the Subject Matter of the last Conference.
Which being agreed to;
Ordered, That the Persons formerly appointed do manage the Conference.

the Lords.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree to the Conference, which was first desired, on the Message from
the Lords on Thursday: And that the Messenger, that
goes up for the Conference, do acquaint their Lordships
with the reason, why it was not sooner agreed to: And
Sir Robert Howard, and Mr. Vaughan, are to draw up
the Reasons against Monday Morning.
Hearthmoney Tax.
Ordered, That Sir Thomas Tompkins, Sir George Probert,
and Col. Williams, be added to the Hearth Committee.
Committees.
Ordered, That all Committees be adjourned, except the
Hearth Committee: And they are to sit this Afternoon.
