Privilege- a person discharged from Custody.
RESOLVED, &c. That John Dauson and Robert
Alsop, now in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for
a Breach of Privilege committed by them against Col.
Kirkby, a Member of this House, be discharged of their
Commitment, paying their Fees.
Leigh's Estate.
Mr. Mountague reports from the Committee to which
the Bill for confirming a Contract for Sale of Lands to
pay the Debts of Mr. Leigh was committed, that the
Committee had carefully perused the Bill; and found no
Cause to make any Alteration or Amendment therein.
Ordered, That the said Bill be ingrossed.
Committees.
Resolved, &c. That the Committee concerning Caron
House, and all other Committees which are discontinued,
be revived.
Deeping Fen.
Sir Humfry Wynch reports from the Committee, some
Amendments, with a Proviso, agreed to be made, and
added, to the Bill concerning Deeping Fen: Which he
read; and delivered in at the Clerk's Table: And the
Amendments and Proviso were twice read; and, upon
the Question, agreed to.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments
and Proviso agreed to, be ingrossed.
Lucy's Estate.
A Bill, sent from the Lords, for Confirmation of the
Settlement of the Estate of Sir Kingsmill Lucy Baronet,
was read.
Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time Tomorrow Morning.
Privilege- dispersing a Paper at the Door.
A printed Paper being dispersed at the House Door,
in the Name of some of the indigent loyal Officers;
aspersing several Members of this House; and the Proceedings of the House itself;
Resolved, &c. That it be referred to the Committee
to which the Bill concerning the indigent loyal Officers
was committed, to examine, in the first Place, who was
the Author, Printer, and Publisher of that Paper; and
report the Matter to the House.
Administrators Accounts.
Ordered, That the Bill, sent from the Lords, concerning Administrators, be read the Second time To-morrow
Morning.
Preventing Export of Wool.
Ordered, That the Bill against the Exportation of Wool
be read the first Bill To-morrow Morning.
Supply Bill; Wine Duties, &c.
The House then proceeded to the Amendments to the
Bill for the King's Supply, by an Imposition on Wines,
Brandy, and Strong Waters: And several of the Amendments being twice read, and some Alterations made at
the Table, were, upon the Question, severally agreed.
A Debate arising upon the Amendment to the Second
Line of the Thirteenth Folio, concerning Searches in the
Houses of private Persons; and how the King may be
secured against Frauds; and the Subjects against unnecessary Searches; the Amendment and Debate was postponed.
A Debate arising upon the Thirty-second Paragraph,

The House debated the Clause to be added to the End
of the Bill, to prevent Wine or Strong Water being twice
charged.
Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to consider of the said Clause, and to amend the same, if they
think fit: And the said Committee are to prepare and
bring in a Clause upon the Amendments postponed, for
securing the King against Frauds; and the Subjects against
unnecessary Searches: And they are likewise to prepare
and bring in a Clause, for making of the Commissioners
for levying of Monies upon this Bill, to be accountable
to the Commissioners for taking the publick Accounts;
and also for laying an Imposition on Wines and Brandy at
the Custom House, for making up the Supply to his
Majesty, in case the same be not raised within Two Years
on the Imposition upon the Retailers: And they are also
to prepare and bring in a Clause for making such Persons as shall swear falsely upon this Bill, to be guilty of
Perjury, according to the Statute of 5° Eliz. viz. Mr.
Steward, Mr. Buscawen, Sir Jo. Duncombe, Sir Wm.
Coventry, Sir Walter Young, Mr. Swynfen, Sir Robert
Howard, Mr. Seymour, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Robert Car,
Mr. Vaughan, Sir Thom. Meres, Col. Birch, Mr. Hen.
Coventry, Sir Thom. Lee, Sir Nicho. Carew, Mr. Comptroller, Sir Thom. Littleton, * Morice; or any Five of them:
And they are to meet this Afternoon at Two of the
Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber; and to proceed in the
aforesaid Matters to them referred, notwithstanding
the Sitting of the Committee of Grievances; and make
the Report To-morrow Morning Nine of the Clock.
