THE ingrossed Bill to prevent malicious Maiming
and Wounding, was read:
And some Amendments agreed, upon the Question;
and made at the Table.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the
Title be, An Act to prevent malicious Maiming and
Wounding: And Sir Thomas Lee is to carry up the Bill
to the Lords.
Privilege-Petition from a person in custody.
A Petition of Michael Stanley Apothecary, under the
Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, was read; submitting
himself to, and begging Pardon of, the House, for his
Breach of Privilege.
Ordered, That Michael Stanley be discharged from the
Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, paying his Fees.
Privilege-Reflection on a Member.
Information being given, of a printed Paper dispersed
at the Door of the House, seeming to reflect and cast some
Aspersion upon Sir John Pettus; a Member of this House;
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of
Elections, to examine the Matter complained of on the
Behalf of Sir John Pettus; and report it, with their
Opinions therein, to the House.
Defaulters to Call of the House.
Ordered, That the Names of the Members Defaulters
be called over on Monday Morning the first Business:
And that then, next after, the Bill of Subsidies be read
the Second time.
And then the House adjourned till Monday
