Prayers.
Leave of Absence.
ORDERED, That Sir Norton Knatchbold have the
Leave of this House to go into the Country, for
Recovery of his Health.
Members in arrear of Aid.
Ordered, That such Members as serve for the City of
London, be added to the Committee appointed to enquire
what Monies are in Arrear to his Majesty, and how they
may be recovered; and that the Committee be revived.
Preventing Growth of Popery.
Ordered, That the Report of the Committee appointed
to enquire into the Causes of the Growth of Popery, be
heard To-morrow Morning; and that the Committee
have Leave to sit this Afternoon, notwithstanding the
Sitting of the Committee of Grievances.
Earl of Shrewsbury's Estate.
An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, on the Behalf
of the Earl of Shrewsbury, and John Talbot Esquire, Infants, with the Amendments made and agreed by this
House, was read the Third time.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments
agreed to, do pass: And that the Title be agreed: And
the Bill, with the Amendments, is to be returned to the
Lords, for their Concurrence, by Mr. Weld.
Supply Bill; Subsidies.
The House then resumed the Report of the Bill of
Subsidies and Amendments thereunto: Which being
once read;
The Amendments to the Fifth Line of the First Folio
was read the Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed.
The Amendments, to the Sixth Line of that Folio, was
read the Second time; and, with the Omission of these
Words, "contracted by Your Majesty in the late War,"
upon the Question, agreed to be omitted.
The Amendments, to the Seventh Line, was read the
Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed.
The Amendments, to the Seventh Line of the Third
Folio, was read the Second time; and, upon the Question,
agreed.
The Clause, marked (A) N. 1. for taxing Fifteen
Shillings per Cent. on the Bankers, was read the Second
time; and, with some Alterations, upon the Question,
made at the Table, agreed to.
The Second Clause, of transferring Debts, marked (B)
N 2. was twice read; and, upon the Question, rejected.
Resolved, &c. That the House proceed in the Report
of the Amendments to the Bill of Subsidies, To-morrow
Morning, Nine of the Clock.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow
