A PETITION of Sir John Prettyman Knight and
Baronet, was read.
Ordered, That Sir Edward Hungerford have a Sight
of the Petition; and that the same be taken into further
Consideration, on Wednesday Morning next.
Paris Garden made a Parish.
Sir Adam Browne reports from the Committee, to
which the Bill for making the Manor of Paris Garden in
Surrey, a Parish distinct from St. Saviour's Southwarke,
some Amendments agreed by the Committee to be made,
and Clauses to be added to the Bill: Which he read, with
the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the
same in at the Clerk's Table:
And the same being twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed;
Resolved, That the said Bill, with the Amendments
and Clauses, be ingrossed.
Haslington Parish.
A Message from the Lords, by Sir Will. Child and
Sir Will. Glascocke;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill,
intituled, An Act for erecting of the Manor or Lordship
of Haslington in the County of Chester, into a Parish:
To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
Defaulters to Call of the House.
Ordered, That Mr. Henry Goring, Sir Richard Edgecombe, Sir Cicill Bishop, Sir John Sidenham, Sir Henry
Wood, Mr. Laurence Hide, Mr. Thompson, and Mr. Giles
Hungerford, formerly Defaulters in Attendance upon
the Call of the House, be excused, and struck out of
the List of Defaulters.
Preventing Growth of Popery.
Sir Trevor Williams reports from the Committee appointed to inquire into the Causes of the Growth of
Popery, an Address agreed by the Committee, in pursuance of the Reasons and Votes formerly reported,
and agreed by the House to be presented to his Majesty:
Which was read; and, with an Addition to the Preamble,
made at the Table, agreed to.
Leave of Absence.
The Question being put, That Mr. Garaway have
the Leave of the House to go into the Country, to follow
his Occasions;
It passed in the Negative.
Defaulters to Call of the House.
The House then proceeded to the Calling over the
List of Defaulters.
And several Excuses being allowed; and the rest,
whose Excuses were not allowed, were, upon the Question, ordered to be sent for in Custody, according to
the former Order.
Ordered, That the House be called over on this Day
Fortnight, under the Penalty last imposed; and no Member to go out of Town, without Leave, by Order.
Supply.
The Question being put, That the House will every
other Day proceed on the Bills for his Majesty's Supply;
and the other Days, upon other publick Business;
It passed in the Negative.
Supply Bill; Beer and Ale.
The additional Bill of Excise on Beer and Ale, for his
Majesty's Supply, was read the Second time.
Resolved, &c. That the Debate thereof be adjourned
till Wednesday Morning next.
