Fishery.
ORDERED, That the Select Committee to which
the Matter for the Improvement and Encouragement
of Fishery, was transmitted, from the Committee of
Trade, and referred, be revived: And all the Members
of this House, that serve for the several Counties of
Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Wilts, and Kent;
and all that serve for the Port Towns; be added to the
Committee: And the Committee are to prepare and
bring in a Bill for the Encouragement and Improvement
of Fishery, according to the former Order of the
Twenty-eighth of February last.
Defaulters to Call of the House.
Mr. Thomas Coventry, and Mr. Roger Talbot, Defaulters in Attendance, did this Day, in their Places, give
their Answers, and Excuses, for their Default in Attendance: Which, upon the Question, were allowed: And
they were both excused, paying their Fees.
Committees.
Ordered, That, during the Time the House does sit,
Forenoon and Afternoon, upon the Bill of his Majesty's
Supply, being limited to be To-day and Saturday, all
Committees be adjourned; and do forbear to sit.
Indigent Officers.
Ordered, That the Report of the Bill on the Behalf of

Tobacco, &c.
The House resumed the adjourned Debate of the Bill
to prevent the planting Tobacco in England and Ireland,
and for Encouragement of the English Plantations.

Tobacco in England, and for regulating the Plantation

Supply Bill; foreign Commodities.
A Clause to discourage and prohibit several foreign
Commodities to be imported into England, was twice
read; and debated.
Resolved, &c. That the said Clause be committed to
the Committee of the whole House, to which the Bill for
an Imposition on foreign Commodities, is committed; to
consider thereof, and make the said Clause Part of the Bill.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Andrew Hacket and
Sir Wm. Beversham;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill
to enable Henry Booth Esquire to levy Fines; and suffer
Recoveries: To which they desire the Concurrence of
this House.

A MESSAGE from the Lords, by Sir Mond.
Brampston and Sir Andr. Hacket;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to acquaint you, that they have agreed with you in your Address to be presented to his Majesty, to prevent the
Growth of Popery; and would appoint some Members
of that House, to know his Majesty's Pleasure, when he
will be attended; and give Notice thereof to this House.
Cornwall Assizes.
A Bill for settling the Assizes in the County of Cornwall, being read the First time;
The Question being put, That the Bill be read a Second time;
It was resolved in the Affirmative.
Duty on foreign Salt.
Ordered, The Committee of the whole House be impowered to bring in a Clause, for an Imposition upon
foreign Salt, at the Custom-house.
Houses burnt in London.
Ordered, That the Bill for settling Differences touching Houses burnt, be read To-morrow Morning.
Privilege-Petition from a person in custody.
A Petition being tendered, on the Behalf of Stephen
Wayne, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach
of Privilege;
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of
Privileges, to examine the Matter of the Petition, and
Breach of Privilege; and report it, with their Opinions
therein, to the House: And in the mean time he is to
have his Liberty, upon Security.
Supply Bill; foreign Commodities.
The House then resolved into a Committee of the
whole House, upon the Bill of additional Impositions on
foreign Commodities.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Seymour took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Seymour reports from the said Committee, That
they had made some further Progress in the Consideration
of the said Bill; and humbly moved, from the said Committee, that the House would resolve into a Committee
of the whole House To-morrow Morning, to proceed in
the further Consideration thereof.
Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee, That the House be resolved into a Committee of
the whole House, To-morrow Morning, to proceed in the
further Consideration of the additional Bill of Excise on
foreign Commodities.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow
