Prayers.
Importing Brandy.
A PETITION of several Brewers and Distillers of
the City of London, was read.
Resolved, &c. That Leave be given to bring in a Bill
to prevent the Importation of Brandy: And it is recommended to the Lord Cornbury to bring in the Bill.
Earl of Newburgh's Estate.
Mr. Hungerford reports from the Committee to whom
the Bill to enable the Countess of Newburgh to sell Lands,
was committed, some Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the
Coherence, in his Place; and afterwards delivered the
same in at the Clerk's Table: Where they were twice
read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.
Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be
ingrossed.
Morland's Water Engine.
Sir John Mallet reports from the Committee to whom
Sir Samuel Morland's Bill was committed, several Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill:
Which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered
the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where they were once
read: And the Amendments to the Clause marked (B),
being read a Second time, were, with some Amendments
made at the Table, upon the Question, severally agreed
unto.
Message to attend the King.
A Message from His Majesty, by Sir Edward Carteret,
Usher of the Black Rod;
Mr. Speaker,
The King commands this honourable House to attend
Him immediately, in the House of Lords.
Parliament prorogued.
And accordingly Mr. Speaker, with the House, went
up to the House of Lords, to attend his Majesty: Where
his Majesty was pleased to prorogue both Houses of Parliament, to the Tenth Day of November next.
