Williams' Estate.
AN ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An
Act to supply an Omission in the Settlement of the
Estate of Sir Trevor Williams Baronet, made upon the
Marriage of his eldest Son; and to enable his eldest Son
to make a Jointure to a Second Wife; was read the
Second time.
Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to Mr. Crouch,
Sir Geo. Downing, Mr. Gray, Sir Hen. Ford, Sir Anth.
Irby, Sir Edm. Windham, Mr. Pepis, Mr. Westfaling, Sir
Rob. Berkeley, Sir Wm. Killegrew, Mr. Wright, Sir John
Mallet, Sir John Barnably, Mr. Windham, Mr. Neale,
Mr. Browne, Sir Wm. Thompson, Sir John Coriton, Mr.
Wyn, Sir Geo. Reeves, Sir John Covert, Lord Fitzharding, Sir John Hobart, Sir Rob. Cann, Sir John Cotton,
Colonel Price, Sir Court Poole, Sir Rich. Everard, Mr.

Sir Tho. Woodcock, and all that serve for Hereford and
Wales: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Two of
the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.
Hamrough Company.
A Petition of several Clothiers was read.
Resolved, &c. That the said Petition be referred to the
Consideration of the Committee, to whom the Petition of
the Creditors of the Hamrough Company is committed.
Insolvent Debtors.
Sir Edward Deering reports from the Committee to
whom the Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners for Debt, was
committed, several Amendments and Provisoes, agreed
by the Committee to be made; and added to the Bill:
Which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered
the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were
twice read, and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.
A Proviso was presented, and read, That the Prisoners,
who are Handicraftsmen, may have Liberty to exercise
their Trades in Prison; and, upon the Question, rejected.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments
agreed to, be ingrossed.
Papists not to sit in Parliament.
A Bill for hindering Papists to sit in either House of
Parliament, was read the First time.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time on
Wednesday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock.
Privilege- a Member convicted of being a Papist.
The Officers of the Exchequer were called in; and delivered the Extract transmitted into the Exchequer, of the
Record of the Conviction of Sir Solomon Swale's being a
Popish Recusant; bearing Date the Tenth of Octob. 29°
Caroli secundi; with Sir Solomon Swale's Plea; and the
Proceedings thereupon.
A Letter from Sir Solomon Swale to Mr. Speaker was
read to the House.
Ordered, That Sir Solomon Swale do, by Wednesday
next come Sevennight, bring a Certificate of his Conformity to the Church of England; or in Default thereof,
that Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk
of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Electing
of a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament, for the
Borough of Aldborough in the County of Yorke, in the
room of the said Sir Solomon Swale.
Grantham Election.
Sir Tho. Meeres reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, the State of the Case upon the Election for the Borough of Grantham in the County of Lincolne: And that the Committee, upon the Consideration
thereof, had agreed upon Two Votes: Which he read
in his Place; and afterwards, delivered the same in at
the Clerk's Table: Where the same were read; and are
as followeth:
Resolved, &c. That Sir Robert Markham is not duly
elected to serve in the present Parliament as Burgess for
the Borough of Grantham in the County of Lincolne.
Resolved, &c. That Sir Wm. Ellis is duly elected to
serve in this present Parliament as Burgess for the
Borough of Grantham in the County of Lincolne.
The First of the said Votes being read a Second time;
The Question being put, To agree with the Committee in the said Vote;
The House divide.
