Discovery of Thieves, and Punishment of Retailing Brokers, etc. in London.

HODIE 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Discovery of Thieves, and Punishment of Retailing Brokers, and other Receivers of Stolen Goods, within the City of London, and within the Compass of Three Miles of the said City.

Essex's Lands for Payment of his Debts.

The Bill, intituled, An Act for the Sale of Part of the Lands of William Essex, of Lamborne, in the County of Berk, Esquire, for the Payment of his Debts, and settling the Residue upon himself and his Posterity, was returned into the House, by the Lord Privy Seal, one of the Committees, with some small Amendments; which Amendments were presently Twice read, and appointed to be annexed to the Bill, to be sent to the Lower House, for their Consideration of it.

Assurance of Wentworth's Lands for certain Uses.

The Bill, intituled, An Act for the enabling of the Assurance of certain Land, conveyed for the Portions of Three of the Daughters of John Wentworth, Esquire, etc. was also returned into the House, by the Lord Privy Seal, first of the Committees, without Amendment or Addition.

Message from the Commons, concerning Tenures and Wardships.

Message from the Lower House, by Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer and others:

That the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses of the Nether House, do desire the Lords to give Meeting to the Lower House, and to receive their Answer, touching the Matter last treated of between this House and that, concerning Wardships and Tenures; and that the Lower House do purpose to send the same Committees whom they employed the last Time in this Business: Lastly, That they refer the Time and Place to their Lordships.

That the Lords Committees for that Cause shall meet with the Committees of the Lower House formerly used therein, this present Afternoon, by Two of the Clock, in the Painted Chamber.

Absent Lords excused.

The Absence of the Lord Sheffeilde excused by the Lord Chancellor, by reason of a Hurt lately happened in one of his Legs.

The Absence of the Lord Bishop of Bath and Wells excused by the Lord Archbishop of Canterb. for that, by the King's Commandment, he attendeth His Majesty in His present Journey.

Adjourn.
