Members take Oaths.
THE House, according to the Order of Monday
last, began at Nine of the Clock, to take the Oaths,
injoined by an Act of this present Parliament, intituled,
An Act for removing and preventing all Questions and
Disputes concerning the Assembling and Sitting of this present Parliament; and to make, repeat and subscribe the
Test or Declaration, injoined both by the same Act of
Parliament, and an Act of Parliament made in the Thirtieth Year of the Reign of King Charles the Second;
Mr. Speaker first, by himself, in the Chair, taking the
said Oaths, and making, repeating, and subscribing the
said Declaration; and afterwards, such Members as did
answer to their Names upon the calling them according
to the Book of Returns of Members to serve in this
House; Mr. Speaker being all the Time in the Chair.
-The House sat for that Purpose till Four a Clock in
the Afternoon: In which time there did to the Number
of about Four Hundred, take the said Oaths, and repeat
and subscribe the said Declaration.
And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning,
Nine a Clock.
