PRAYERS.
Messages from H. C. to return Patrick's Bill; and Gomeldon's Bill.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Levinz and others:
To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of
the Manor of Dalham, and other Manors and Hereditaments, in the County of Suffolk, and elsewhere,
late the Estate of Simon Patrick Clerk, deceased, for
the several Purposes therein mentioned;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same,
without any Amendment.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons,
by Mr. Carter and others:
To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of
the Manors of North Court and Boynton, in the Parish
of Swingfield, in the County of Kent, Part of the
Estate of Richard Gomeldon Esquire, for discharging
Incumbrances;" and to acquaint this House, that they
have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.
Lottery Bill.
The House was (according to Order) adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill,
intituled, "An Act for laying several Duties upon all
Soap and Paper made in Great Britain, or imported
into the same, and upon chequered and striped Linens imported, and upon certain Silks, Calicoes,
Linens, and Stuffs, printed, painted, or stained; and
upon several Kinds of stamped Vellum, Parchment,
and Paper; and upon certain printed Papers, Pamphlets, and Advertisements, for raising the Sum of
Eighteen Hundred Thousand Pounds, by Way of a
Lottery, towards Her Majesty's Supply; and for licensing an additional Number of Hackney Chairs;
and for charging certain Stocks of Cards and Dice;
and for better securing Her Majesty's Duties to arise
in the Office for the Stamp Duties, by Licenses for
Marriages, and otherwise; and for Relief of Persons
who have not claimed their Lottery Tickets in due
Time, or have lost Exchequer Bills or Lottery
Tickets; and for borrowing Money upon Stock (Part
of the Capital of the South Sea Company), for the
Use of the Public."
And, after some Time spent therein, the House was
resumed.
And the Lord Delawar reported from the Committee,
"That they had gone through the said Bill, without
any Amendment.
Grants made since the Revolution, for examining, Bill, rejected.

to appoint Commissioners to examine the Value of all
Lands, and other Interests, granted by the Crown, since
the Thirteenth Day of February One Thousand Six
Hundred and Eighty-eight, and upon what Consideration such Grants were made."
After Debate;
The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with
the Amendment, shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Negative.
L. Say & Seal versus Lloyd, in Error.
Whereas To-morrow is appointed, for hearing the
Errors argued upon the Writ of Error depending in
this House, wherein the Lord Viscount Say & Seal is
Plaintiff, and Henry Lloyd Gentleman Defendant:
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear
the Errors argued in this Case, on Saturday next, at
Eleven a Clock.
