Bishops to be wrote to, whose Dioceses have not returned their Collections for London in the late Infection.
A LETTER is to be written to the Dean and Chapter of Yorke, and to the Chancellor and Vicar General,
concerning the Collection pro London etc. in Time of the
late Infection prout to the other Bishops, whose Dioceses
have not accounted for the same, ut per Ordinem 7 Maii.
And the Lord Bishop of Winchester that now is will give
Account for the Dioceses of Durham and Winton.
Ld. Mohun desires to know if he is to answer a Charge against him in the H. C.
The Lord Mohun desired to know the Pleasure of the
House, whether he shall answer a Charge against him in
the House of Commons or not.
Then his Lordship withdrew. This was put to the
Question; and Agreed, per plures, To be left unto
himself to do herein what his Lordship should think fit.
To do as he pleases.
Then the Lord Mohun was called in; and the Lord
Keeper told him, "The Lord do not advise you to
answer there; but do leave it wholly to yourself to do
therein what you shall think fit."

Delivery of the Petition of Right to the King, reported.
The Lord Keeper first reported the Delivery of the
Petition of Right by both the Houses unto His Majesty.
And then his Lordship delivered a Message from His
Majesty, in hæc verba: videlicet,
Message from the King, concerning it.
"His Majesty, having now received the Petition of
both Houses, hath commanded me to signify unto
your Lordships, that He resolveth to give an Answer
thereunto with Speed. And, having a Desire to finish
a Session as soon as may be, hath likewise commanded,
That I should declare His Pleasure therein; and that
therefore he would have no Recess at Whitsontide, but
that you set to dispatch the Business with all Speed,
which He thought fit should be told you now, before
any were gone away upon Expectation of a Recess."

To consider of the Surplusage of the Money collected for the Relief of London and the Out Parishes in Time of the late Infection.
To know of the Bishop of London how the Monies remaining in his Hands have been paid, according to the Order of the 16th of May 1626.
To take Accompts of the Monies collected in those
Eleven Dioceses which had not paid in their
Monies before the said 16th of May 1626.
And it is Ordered, That the whole Sum collected in
those Eleven Dioceses to be wholly converted to the
Redemption of the English Captives at Sally, and in
the Parts adjoining.
Lane versus Baud.
The Cause between Lane and Baud was this Day
heard, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, concerning
a Decree in the Chancery.
Ordered, To be heard again this Day Sevennight.

Nicholas Bowyer brought to the Bar, to answer his
Scandal of the Earl of Northampton, who denied the
Words; withdrawn,
