Sir Ed. Leech protected from Debts he is engaged for, for the E. of Leicester.
Upon reading the Petition of Sir Edward Leech, One
of the Masters of the Chancery attending this House;
complaining, "That he is sued in the Petty Bag, by
one Baker, for a Debt which he stands bound
for, for the Earl of Leycester:"
It is Ordered, That Sir Edward Leech shall have
the Protection of this House for this Debt, and all
other Debts which he stands bound (fn. *) for, for the Earl
of Leycester.
Answer from the H. C.
Doctor Bennett, &c. return with this Answer from
the House of Commons:
That they will take all the Particulars of their Message into Consideration, and return an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Chamberlain, Sheriff of Oxon.
The Question being put, "Whether Mr. Chamberlaine shall be Sheriff of the County of
Oxford?"
The Votes were even; and therefore it is ordered to be the First Business To-morrow
Morning.
Message to the H. C. for Two Sheriffs to have Leave to reside out of their Counties;-and to remind them of the following particulars.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by
Doctor Aylett and Doctor Bennett:
1. To desire their Concurrence in an Order for Mr.
Verney, Sheriff of the County of Warwicke, to live out
of the County, upon his Occasions.
2. To desire their Concurrence in an Order for Mr.
Andrewes, Sheriff of the County of North'ton, to reside out of his County.
3. To put them in Mind of Lieutenant General Middleton's and other Scotch Officers Petition.
4. To put them in Mind of Lieutenant Colonel Andrewe's Order.
5. To put them in Mind of Mr. Pringle's Order.
6. To put them in Mind of Mrs. Pigott's Petition.
E. of Lincoln's Counsel.
Ordered, That Mr. Chute and Mr. Nudigate are
assigned to be of Counsel with the Earl of Lyncolne and
such others as shall be approved of by this House; their
Names being presented to the House.
E. of Suffolk's D.
Ordered, That Mr. Herne and Mr. Hale are assigned to be of Counsel with the Earl of Suffolke, and
such others as shall be approved of by this House.
Ordinance to raise 20 000£. per Mens. for Irel.
The Ordinance for raising Twenty Thousand Pounds
per Mensem for the Relief of Ireland, was read Twice,
and committed to the Committee of the whole House;
To-morrow Morning.
Sturmy released.
Ordered, That Sturmy shall be released, and set at
Liberty from his present Restraint.
Sir R. Bell and Duncomb, Suit in the Court of Wards.
Ordered, That Mr. Awdley, Clerk to the Court of
Wards, shall certify to this House, whether there is
any Suit depending in that Court between Sir Rob't Bell
Knight and Edmund Duncombe, &c.

Upon reading the Petition of Martin Bentley and Katherin his Wife, Administrators of Anthony Hooper;
desiring "to have the Perusal of Books and Writings
which are in Doctor Aylett's Hands:"
It is Ordered, That the Parties whom it concerns
shall see this Petition, and return his Answer to this
House within Three Days after Notice, if he excepts
against any Thing contained therein.

It is Ordered, That they shall have the Twenty
Pounds paid to them, which is deposited in the Hands of
