Nicholas prob. continued asarchdcn. of entire area after creation of see of Ely (Liber Eliensis p. 403), but hissuccessor as archdcn. of Ely occ. soon after 1110 (ibid. p. 276). Prob. to be identifiedwith Nicholas, father of Henry of Huntingdon (below), 'stella cleri', who d. 1110and was buried at Lincoln (Hen. Hunt. p. 237; cf. ibid. p. xxxiii).
