Footnotes

2 See also G.F. p. 286.
3 Temp. Hugh de Mareni, dean (above p. 5), and Richard de Belmeis II, bp. of London (p. 2); cf. above p. 9 n. 7.
1 A rent mentioned in the charter was to run from Christmas 1185.
2 Temp. Ralph de Diceto, dean (above pp. 5-6), and Nicholas, archdcn. of London (p. 9).
3 The appearance of M. Edmund de Storteford, who is not called can., in a charter of before 1215 of William of Ste.-Mère-Eglise, bp. of London (A/39/1369), raises the possibility that the M. Edmund of D.S.R. II is M. Edmund de Storteford, and also that the cats.' surname 'de Suwella' is at fault.
4 Temp. Robert de Barton, precentor (above p. 24).
