(fn. 4) These early occs. difficult to explain, unless Richard was a vice-archdcn., perhaps to be identified with Richard who occ. as archdcn. of Worcester dioc. [May 1112 × Feb. 1114] and [1115 × 23] (see above p. 105). Presum. succeeded Gervase, because occ. [1151 × 57] (T.
