Coaches and a Waggon, provided they be searched
before ever they go, by those that have Authority.
Algier Captives.
The Petition of divers Women, whose Husbands are
Captives in Argier, was read, desiring "To have the
Benefit of the Act of Parliament, made for rating
of One per Cent. upon Goods:" Hereupon this
House Ordered, That the Earl of Warwicke and the
Lord Grey of Warke shall enquire what Proceedings
have been made upon that Act, and report the same to
this House.
Countess of Carberry, a Pass.
Ordered, That the Countess of Carbery shall have
a Pass, to go into Kente, and back again.
De Lizola, Resident from the Emperor, a Protection.
Ordered, That Francois de Lizola, Resident here
for the Emperor, shall have a Protection, for his Person,
and his Servants as appertain unto him.
Mr. Wortley Gent. of the Privy Chamber, Privilege.
Upon reading the Petition of Francis Wortley Esquire,
One of the Gentlemen of His Majesty's Privy Chamber, complaining, "That he hath been arrested, upon
Two several Actions, in the Knight Marshal's Court,
at the Suit of one Richard Thorneton, by Thorowgood,
a Bailiff, without Leave obtained:" Hereupon this
House Ordered, That the Parties complained of shall
be sent for, to attend this House, and then their Lordships will take the same into further Consideration; and
that it be made appear that the said Mr. Wortley is upon
the Roll, a Servant of the King's.
Ordered, That the Debate of the Conference
brought up Yesterday from the House of Commons,
concerning the Propositions, is referred till To-morrow
Morning.
Blake versus Goodwin.
Upon the Petition of Anne Blake; shewing, "That
Mr. Goodwin is Brother-in-Law to Mr. Rolfe, and
Surety for him in Chancery, and, coming in pendente
Lite, cannot have any Colour of Privilege, especially in such Case wherein the Petitioner sueth by
Way of Appeal against a Sentence unduly obtained;
neither can the said Mr. Goodwin lawfully purchase
that which was in Suit between others; desiring their
Lordships to suspend the Order annexed, till the
Cause be heard before their Lordships."
Hereupon this House Ordered, That Mr. Goodwin
shall have a Copy of this Petition, and return his Answer
to the same.
Dr. Hughes, a Pass to Holland.
Ordered, That Doctor Hughes, Physician to the
Prince Elector, shall have a Pass, to go into Holland.
Serjeant Finch Leave to be absent.
Ordered, That Mr. Serjeant Fynch hath Leave to
be absent from his Attendance on this House, for Four
of Five Days.
Inhabitants of St. Cuhtbert's versus Mr. Thorne, their Minister.
The Petition of the Inhabitants of St. Cutberts,
in Bedford Town, was read; "complaining against Mr.
Thorne, their Minister, who hath wilfully neglected
the Cure of the Souls of the said Parish, and hath
taken to his own Use the Profits of the said Benefice; desiring that an Order may be made, to compel
the said Mr. Thorne to afford a sufficient Maintenance,
out of the Profits of the Rectory, to Mr. Holden,
who dischargeth the said Cure there, to the Good of
their Souls."
Hereupon this House Ordered, That the
Earls of Pembrooke,

And the Lord Howard of Estc.
Shall call before them the said Mr. Thorne, who is
committed by this House, to know his Answer concerning the Contents of this Petition; and report
the same to this House.
