361. Beadles Duty settled at the Election of Henry Harrill - To attend
Justices at their Petty Sessions attend at all Vestry and Parish Meetings
carry out Summonses on all necessary occations and waite on the Justices on Saturday moring [sic] to know when they will please to meet. To
assist Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor in Collecting their
several Rates and in Releiving the Poor, attend at the Great Door of the
Church every Sunday in the forenoon and afternoon. To Inquire of all
Foreign poor and bring in an account of them to the Justices at their
Petty Sessions as soon as they become Intruders. To bring in a List of all
new [house Keepers deleted] Inhabitants both House Keepers and
Lodgers to the Justices at their Petty Sessions twice in every year vizt
next Petty Sessions after Lady day and the next Petty Sessions after
Michaelmass. To Convey Foreign Poor with Passes to their Settlements.
To apprehend Vagrants and Wandering Beggars and carry them before
the Justices in order that they may be Punished. (fn. 1) [See
