AN ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act
for Sale of Part of the Estate of Jonathan Webb
Esquire, for discharging of Debts and Incumbrances
thereupon, was read a Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Sir Fra. Massam, Mr. England, Mr. Waller, Sir Fra. Blake, Sir John
Moreton, Sir Robert Eden, Sir Tho. Dyke, Mr. Frewen,
Mr. Stokes, Mr. Cook, Sir John Kay, Mr. Lutterell, Mr.
Kendall, Sir John Cotton, Sir John Knight, Mr. Christie,

Earl of Thanet's Indentures.
An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act
for confirming Two Indentures Tripartite, the one of
Lease, and the other of Release, made between the
Right Honourable Thomas Earl of Thanet Island, of the
First Part; the Honourable Sackvill Tufton Esquire, of
the Second Part; and the Honourable Wm. Cheine Esquire,
and Sir Charles Tufton Knight, of the Third Part; and
the Estates thereby settled; was read the Third time.
Resolved, That the Bill do pass.
Ordered, That Sir Thomas Dyke do carry the Bill to
the Lords, and acquaint them, That this House hath
agreed to the same, without any Amendments.
Earl of Salisbury's Estate.
Sir William Forester reported from the Committee, to
whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An
Act to enable the Guardians of James Earl of Salisbury to
make Leases of Salisbury-House, and some other Hereditaments in the Strand, in the County of Middlesex, for
Improvement thereof by Building, was committed, That
they had examined the same; and had directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendments:
And he delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.
Kirk's Estate.
An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act
for settling the Estate of John Kirk, deceased, for Payment
of his Debts, was read a Second time.

Garway's Claim on City of London.
A Petition of Thomas Garway, an ancient Bond-Creditor of the City of London, was presented to the House, and
read; setting forth, That the Petitioner, as also many
others, is a Creditor, by Bond, of the City of London; yet
hath been denied the Benefit of the Orphans Act; though
he was formerly assured, by several of the City Members,
That all Bond-Debts were to be paid and satisfied: And
praying, That the Intention of the Act for Relief of the
Orphans of the said City may be declared to be, That
all Bond-Debts ought to be equally included.
Resolved, That the Petition be rejected.
Commissioners of Accounts.
A Bill for taking and stating the publick Accounts for
the Year 1695, was read a Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed, upon the Debate, to a Committee of the whole House.
Resolved, That this House will, upon Wednesday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole
House, to consider of the said Bill.

Resolved, That this House will proceed to a new Election of Commissioners for taking and stating the publick
Accounts.
Resolved, That the Number of the said Commissioners

Resolved, That the Names of the said Commissioners
be brought in upon Wednesday Morning next: And that
every Member of this House do prepare a List, in Paper,
of the Names of Seven Persons, who he shall think fit to
be Commissioners, to be put into Glasses at the Table.

any Office of Profit, or is accountable to his Majesty.
Compelling the production of Sir P. Pindar.
Mr. Christie, according to Order, reported, from the
Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords,
intituled, An Act to compel Edward Williams Esquire
to bring forth the Person of Sir Paul Pindar, Baronet,
was committed, the Matter directed by the said Committee
to be reported; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table.
And the Question being put, That the Report be now
read;
It passed in the Negative.
Raising the Militia.
A Bill for raising the Militia of this Kingdom for the
Year 1695, although the Month's Pay formerly advanced
be not repaid; and for repealing the Statute, of the 2d
and 3d Years of King Edward the Sixth, intituled, An Act
against Shooting of Hail-shot; was read a Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee
of the whole House.
Resolved, That it be an Instruction to the Committee,
to prepare, and bring in, a Clause, to take an Account of
the Monies raised for Trophy-money, and the Weekly
and Month's Tax; and that the same may be recovered,
and applied for the proper Uses.
Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole
House, to consider of the said Bill.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Mr. Prideaux have Leave to go into
the Country, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Supply Bill; Annuities for Life.
A Bill for the enabling such Persons as have Estates
for Life in Annuities, payable by several former Acts,
therein mentioned, to purchase and obtain further or
more certain Interests in such Annuities; and, in Default
thereof, for admitting other Persons to purchase or obtain
the same; was read a Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee
of the whole House.
Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole
House, to consider of the said Bill.
A Person reprimanded for offering a Bribe to a Member.
Mr. Brid attending, according to Order.
He was called in: And, being at the Bar, was told by
Mr. Speaker, That there had been a Complaint made
against him to this House, for offering of Money to Mr.
Musgrave, a Member of this House, to present a Petition
to this House.
Whereunto he said, That some Persons did apprehend,
That a Bill depending in this House, for settling an Estate
late of Mr. Howland, did affect their Interest in Part of
that Estate; and therefore desired him to prepare a Petition
to be presented to this House, for the providing for their
Interest: Which accordingly he did: And that he being
a Stranger to the Proceedings of this House, and there
being a Title in the Case, and knowing Mr. Musgrave to
be a Gentleman of the Long Robe, did intend to give
him a Guinea for his Advice in that Matter; but understanding by Mr. Musgrave he had committed an Error in
so doing, he had begged Pardon of Mr. Musgrave, as he
did now of this House.
And then withdrew.
Resolved, That the said Mr. Bird be called in; and
that Mr. Speaker do reprimand him, upon his Knees, at
the Bar.
And he was called in; and, upon his Knees, reprimanded accordingly; and then discharged.
Indemnity to Discoverers of corrupt Gifts to Members.
The House, according to the Order of the Day, resumed the adjourned Consideration of Saturday last, upon
the Report from the Committee appointed to inspect the
Books of the East-India Company, and of the Chamberlain of London:
Resolved, That whosoever shall discover any Money,
or other Gratuity, given to any Member of this House,
for Matters transacted in this House, relating to the Orphans Bill, or the East-India Company, shall have the
Indemnity of this House for such Gift.
